Thousands of young ball players, maybe even millions, dream of playing in the big leagues one day, but few ever get the opportunity to show off their stuff, and even fewer ever make it. So when a major league baseball team has an open tryout, it can't help but stir up those big league dreams in aspiring players. The Kansas City Royals are looking for some young talent and will be hosting a MLB Tryout Camp this month in Grand Junction.

The tryout will be held on Saturday, August 24th at Grand Junction High School beginning at 9am. Ken Munoz, Kansas City Royals Area Supervisor for Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Las Vegas will be evaluating players.

There is no fee associated with the tryout camp, and it's open to all players 16 years of age and older. Registration begins at 9am and players need to bring their own equipment. If you have questions you can contact Grand Junction High School baseball coach Donnie  Alexander at coachdonnie22@gmail.com.

You never know. A future hall-of-famer could come out of this tryout camp right here in the Grand Valley.
