Everybody in Grand Junction has lost socks, and the one common denominator is those lost socks are never coming back.

The fact is, nobody actually looks for lost socks. You lose a sock and the matching sock ends up lying in the bottom of the sock drawer unmatched, unwanted, and unused.

Welcome to the annual Lost Sock Drive for Homeward Bound of the Grand Valley.

The Lost Sock Drive is an opportunity for the community to donate gently used socks to those in need, and to put to use a sock that otherwise might have no future purpose.

On Saturday, September 22, Homeward Bound of the Grand Valley will be hosting an open house at its location at 28534 North Avenue in Grand Junction. Drop off some gently used socks between 10 am and 3 pm and you can enjoy a free hot dog or hamburger grilled up by their culinary team.

This is also a great opportunity to see behind the scenes at Homeward Bound by taking a tour of the facility, which is not typically open to the general public.

So, if you have unmatched socks or some socks (without holes) that you are ready to part with, bring them by and put them to good use by donating them someone who really needs them and would appreciate it.
