While Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh is waiting for the band's tour to start this summer, he been busy. He's currently opening shows for Bob Seger, including his recent stop in Denver, and is also working on a new album. In a recent interview with Billboard, Joe revealed some of the details of his new recording project.

I'll say loosely, I've started a blues album...real obscure R&B and Blues songs. Half of it is original and half of it's old Howlin' Wolf and John Lee Hooker.

Joe also says he's recorded some songs that were album tracks on old Otis Redding and Sam & Dave albums for the project. He says another recording session is needed before the project is complete so he isn't able to confirm a release date for the album right now. He's also hoping when the album is done, some of the artists will be available to play some live shows.

While not officially confirmed by the band, Joe also says he's excited about finally being able to perform with Bernie Leadon, the former founding member of the Eagles, who it seems will be joining them on their History of the Eagles tour this summer.
