Everyone seems to have a favorite superhero. Even if you aren't into them now, you likely had a favorite as a child. Tuesday, April 28, is National Superhero Day, and it is time to reflect on the best heroes around. Who is Colorado's favorite superhero, villain, and overall comic book character?

Growing up, there was a common debate among kids. X-Men, Superman, or Batman, which was the best? These were the common arguments, but there are many more options. Thanks to the Marvel movies, other characters have been introduced over the last decade, and more people than ever before are into comic book movies and characters. According to a recent study by ovidlife.com, each state has its favorite comic book characters and now we know who they are. Being the favorite comic book character, this opens it up to villains and superheroes, and not surprisingly, Joker was the most popular in five states, as well as Bane, which was also the favorite in five states. Who was Colorado's favorite? That would be Captain America. To some, this might be a surprising result. While he is the state's favorite comic book hero, who is the state's favorite superhero and their favorite villain?

While Captain America is Colorado's favorite comic book character, is he the state's favorite superhero? Simply, yes, he is. He was five states' favorite hero, which ranks second. Surprisingly, The Hulk was the most liked superhero, being the favorite in eight states. While superheroes are great, they all need great villains to be heroes, and sometimes the villains can be better and more memorable. Not surprising at all, The Joker was the most liked villain, being the favorite in an incredible 14 states, including Colorado. The second was Bane with nine states, and The Penguin with three states. Interesting that Marvel dominated superheroes, but DC, specifically Batman characters, dominated villains.
