Watch This Super-Sized Behind-the-Scenes ‘It’ Featurette
It's safe to say that fans couldn’t get any more excited for the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s It. Not only does the film have one of the most-watched movie trailers of all time, and is also projected to make over $60 million in its opening weekend, it’s also coming into theaters riding a wave of impressive reviews. Somehow, the movie has done all of this without tipping its hand on some of the most impressive scares. And all of this for an R-rated horror movie about children being jeopardized? We’ve come a long way since the original miniseries, America.
And if all of that wasn’t enough, now you can also check out this lengthy behind-the-scenes feature (via Heroic Hollywood) full of shots of the cast and crew at work. If you’re worried that the footage will spoil major scenes from the movie, I have a little bit of good news for you: most of the scenes are fragmented individual shots, meant to highlight the production work more than tease out story elements. There are several new shots of Bill Skarsgård’s Pennywise, but they’re more carefully constructed teases than anything else: Pennywise on the other side of a balloon wall, Pennywise viewed through a window from the back of the film set, Pennywise wading through the sewers in the dark. If you want all of the tease without any of the spoil, this feature does a pretty solid job of walking the line.
Here’s the full plot synopsis for It:
When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.
In addition to Skarsgård, the film will also star Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, and Wyatt Oleff. It will float into theaters on September 8, 2017.
