Here's a family night out you can do only once in a blue moon.

Friday will be the last blue moon for a few years and is also the last Glade Park Volunteer Fire Department Movies Under The Stars until next summer.

The final film of the season is Hook, but the best part of the evening may be the appearance of the Highland Rogues, a real band of pirates prior to the movie.  If you want to make the evening magical for the kids, conveniently forget this part when talking to them about the night out. Just for fun, you could dress up  in pirate attire.

Don't forget a blanket or two, some lawn chairs and a flashlight.

The movie is free, but you can't take food or beverage. The fire department hosts the concession stand and that's how they raise money.  So pack your wallet with a few dollars and enjoy burgers, hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, sodas and top it off with some homemade desserts.

Concessions 5:30pm, Grill 6:00pm, Entertainment 7:00pm, Movie at dusk.

To get there.  East entrance to the Colorado National Monument. Take the Glade Park turn off and travel just past the Glade Park Store.  Signs will direct you where to park.
