A Grand Junction school is raising funds to help troubled teens and children in need of love and stability.

Life Academy is putting on a drama production this weekend with proceeds going to the Lighthouse Ranch for boys in Louisiana and the Tupelo Children's Mansion in  Mississippi.

The Lighthouse Ranch is a residential facility for boys ages 12-17 who are in need of a stable environment. Since it was founded in 1979, more than 1,000 boys have lived at the ranch, and many of them have been the victims of abuse, neglect, drugs, and unstable homes.

The Tupelo Children's Mansion is an orphanage that provides temporary and long-term care to children in crisis situations. The facility hosts 50-75 children each year.

This weekend's production by the Life Academy Drama Team is a comedy called a Falcon Family Feud and it sounds like a lot of fun. "Selfish, secret stories divide dearly devoted sisters until someone lets the cat out of the bag."

Performances are Friday at 7pm and Saturday at 2pm and tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for kids 5-12. Saturday night will feature a lasagne dinner along with the drama. Those tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for kids.

Tickets can be purchased at Life Academy, 636 29 Road or online.
