The Grand Junction Police Department posted online that they are currently operating under Accident Alert. This means that due to weather conditions they don't have time to respond to every call for an accident that is coming in. But there are a few conditions in which an officer will respond no matter what.

The hope is to save some time for law enforcement, and anyone in an accident as sometimes it can take a while for an officer to respond because they have so many things going on.

If you are in a crash while our Grand Junction Police Officers are in this Accident Alert here is what you're being asked to do. If the crash doesn't involve an injury, DUI (drugs or alcohol) are no suspected, the crash isn't a hit and run, you're being asked to exchange insurance information and report the crash information with law enforcement here.

The Grand Junction Police Department social media post went on to remind drivers to slow their speed, use caution, be aware of emergency vehicles, and please drive safe with the snow on the roadways.

Obviously, no one wants to be in a crash but hopefully, if it happens to you being able to file online will speed up the process and help you move on from the unfortunate incident.

Here is the post that was made by the Grand Junction Police Department on Facebook referring to their Accident Alert currently in place.
