The City of Grand Junction is offering free training for liquor licensees (owners), their managers and employees.

The class is scheduled from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12 at City Hall Auditorium, 250 North 5th Street in Grand Junction. Registration will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the class will start promptly at 5:00 p.m. Late arrivals will not be able to participate.

The training will cover:

  • server responsibility
  • ID checking and enforcement
  • recognizing signs of intoxication
  • and guarding against over service of patrons.

Maggie Fitzgerald and Meghan Woodland of the Grand Junction Police Department will present information for the class, which includes an informative method of how servers can protect themselves and their patrons.

Participants who stay for the entire three-hour class and score 70% or better on a post-test will receive certificates of completion for the State-certified class.

Participants are asked to bring their own writing instrument and paper to take notes.
