New Commuting Data for Grand Junction — How Long Are You on the Road?

We're lucky in Grand Junction to not have the traffic jams experienced by other Colorado cities like Denver. But just exactly how long does the average motorist in the Grand Valley spend getting to work every day?According to the latest U.S Census Bureau American Community Survey, the average commute time in Grand Junction is 21 minutes, up a mere 5 minutes from a decade ago.

The survey also revealed some other interesting facts about what happens during the drive to work each morning.

• 78% of commuters drive alone
• 12% car pool
• 4% use other means of transportation, such as taking the bus or riding a bicycle to work
• 30% commute between 7am-8am
• 19% commute between 6am-7am
• 15% commute between 8am-9am
