Fruita has Cancelled Their July 3rd Fireworks
The city of Fruita has cancelled their July 3rd fireworks due to the extreme fire danger. The grass and shrubs at the launch site is extremely dry this year and if a fire where to break out it would threaten nearby subdivisions. After consulting with local emergency services, city officials decided it was in the best interest of the public to cancel the show.
The city of Fruita will host a free community BBQ and concert on July 4th at the Civic Center Pavilion stage. The event will start at 6:30pm with free hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, ice cream and root beer. The Centennial Band will take the stage at 7:30pm with great patriotic entertainment. Bring your own beverages, chairs or blankets but please leave your pets at home.
