They were part of the "British Invasion" of the mid-sixties, but Freddy and the Dreamers only made a small splash in America. They did however make it to the top 40 with a couple of their songs.

Their top 40 hits included "I Understand, Do the Freddie, and  You Were Made For Me." Their biggest hit was huge, "I'm Telling You Now" was #1 this week in 1965 and spent two weeks on top of the charts. It happens to be one of my all-time favorite songs from the 60s.

Freddy Garrity, the lead singer for the band was born in Manchester, England in 1940, and formed The Dreamers in 1961. He continued to perform until 2001 when poor health forced him off the road. Garrity passed away at age 69 in 2006 after being taken ill.
