Driving in daylight fog is not extremely difficult, but drivers need to be smart about it and make sure they can be seen. After the commute to work this morning, I feel compelled to offer a reminder.

Driving in fog is sort of like driving at twi-light. Your headlights may not improve the visibility for you that much, but it sure helps other drivers to see you - which translates to increased safety for  you and for them.

Sometimes people simply forget to turn their lights on, perhaps because they are thinking they can see just fine. But when you see a vehicle coming out of the fog with no lights on, you are immediately aware of how difficult it is to see vehicles with no lights.

I was surprised at the number of vehicles going by this morning  that did not have their headlights on, and so I wanted to remind drivers to be sure and run with headlights on during foggy conditions. It will  make the roads safer for everyone.
