Don’t Forget About the Downtown Art Festival
It's the fall festival season and you don't want to forget about the Downtown Art Festival.
The arrival of fall has brought us the Downtown Car Show and Fruita Fall Festival. Applefest happens this weekend in Cedaredge, and next weekend is Oktoberfest. Right in the middle of all of that is the Downtown Art Festival in Grand Junction.
The Downtown Art Festival, October 4-6, is a mixture of art and music, but this festival is mostly about art.
It all starts on Friday in downtown galleries, shops, and restaurants with First Friday, and there's live music by the plaza at 4th and Main by Rose Finn.
Saturday is the big day with Art on the Corner installation from 7-11am, and an Artist Expo on Main Street from 11-3. It's kind of like the car show where you can come down and vote for your favorite.
Sunday is the Grand Junction Film Festival at the Avalon from 1pm-7pm. The event features films by local filmmakers. After all the fees are added the ticket price is $14.04 and it's all general admission.
Oh, by the way, there will be live music happening at the 4th and Main Plaza on Saturday, and the Theatre Project performs at 12:30.
There is a lot of great art in Grand Junction and this is the time to celebrate it, enjoy it, appreciate it - and maybe even buy it.
