Does Russia’s Nuclear Threat Worry You?

Most of us have lived our entire lives with the possibility of nuclear war, consequently, we tend to have a ho-hum reaction whenever it gets mentioned. But, does it worry you now that Russia has come out and said it has a right to use nuclear weapons if they are attacked?The Associate Press via Yahoo News reports that Russia is willing to use nuclear weapons in response to a non-nuclear attack. The report quotes Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin as saying, those who

"experiment with non-nuclear strategic weapons  should remember that if we come under attack, we will undoubtedly use nuclear weapons in certain situations to defend our territory and state interests."

While the presence of nuclear weapons has long acted as a deterrent to attack from opposing nations, Russia's apparent willingness to use nuclear arms - even in non-nuclear situations, has only served to tighten tension between themselves and the U.S.

Nobody knows what the future holds, but it seems inevitable that the day will come when nuclear weapons will be utilized by one or more countries. This may just be another small step in that direction.

Regardless, the use of nuclear weapons is not  something we should  spend time worrying about. None of us have any control over whether it happens or not.  We would be best served to go about our lives making the most of everyday and being the best we can be.
