Cranium Kruncher: 1100 of These Start Every Second

The Cranium Kruncher today asked the question - 1100 of these start every second in the USA - what is it?I was thinking maybe a microwave, although a car seems to be the most logical answer. But the answer is loads of laundry. You know that task that is NEVER done-unless. of course,  you do laundry in the nude.(which I don't, normally) I mean, as soon as you think you have all the laundry done, you don't. Because  the clothes that you are wearing  are now dirty and need washed. It's an endless cycle.
