If you ever find me crying while scrolling through Facebook, it's probably because I'm looking at Susie's Senior Dogs. Started by Erin O'Sullivan, the fiancée of Humans of New York founder Brandon Stanton, the non-profit works to find loving homes for older dogs.

The organization's latest featured canine is Pharaoh, an 8-year-old mastiff mix. Weighing in at over 80 pounds, he is currently in the care of Do Over Dogs, a Broomfield non-profit, waiting for his forever family.

Pharaoh's journey has not been easy — he came to the Centennial state from a high-kill shelter in Texas. Thankfully, his past hasn't harshened his outlook on life.

"He is a total love bug once he is comfortable with you, and he is also a big goofball," Do Over Dogs told Susie's Senior Dogs. "He is the perfect pooch for casual strolls and Sunday TV binging. He just loves cuddling with his people."

Since he is an older dog, Pharaoh does require some extra care. He takes supplements for mild hip dysplasia and would prefer a quiet home with no other pets (he's about 55 years old in human years...he's ready for some alone time).

However, he is neutered, vaccinated, potty trained, and good on a leash — although he'll need someone to continue his training. His adoption fee is $125, and Do Over Dogs is willing to help with transportation costs for potential out-of-state adopters.

"Although Pharaoh has no time limit now on how long he can stay, living in a boarding facility is not ideal for the long term," said Susie's Senior Dogs. "This boy just wants to find his love match so he can kiss and cuddle on the couch forever!"

If you are interested in adopting Pharaoh, email dooverdogsinfo@gmail.com for more information.
