Colorado Mesa University has announced the dates for their in-person graduation ceremonies. Here are the dates for graduation and the protocol.

District 51 announced their in-person graduation ceremony dates and protocol for the class of 2020 about two weeks ago and today (Monday, July 6) so did Colorado Mesa University. Colorado Mesa University graduation ceremonies will be on Saturday, August 1 at Suplizio Field at Stocker Stadium and at the Brownson Arena in the Maverick Center.

Colorado Mesa University has split up graduation into three commencement ceremonies, which was based on recommendations from Mesa County Public Health, according to CMU. Here's when the three commencement ceremonies will be and how they're split up, according to Colorado Mesa University:

8 a.m. on August 1st

Graduates arrive at 7:30 and all graduates + guests will be ushered in. This ceremony is for the following departments:

  • Art & Design
  • Languages, Literature and Mass Communication
  • Math and Statistics
  • Music
  • Social and Behavioral Sciences
  • Teacher Education
  • Theatre Arts

9:30 a.m. on August 1st

Graduates arrive at 9 a.m. and all graduates + guests will be ushered in. This commencement ceremony is for the following departments:

  • Biology
  • Engineering, Computer Science, Construction Management and CU Engineering
  • Health Sciences
  • Western Colorado Community College

11 a.m. on August 1st

Graduates arrive at 10:30 a.m. and all graduates + guests will be ushered in. This graduation ceremony is for these departments:

  • Business
  • Kinesiology
  • Liberal Arts
  • Physical and Environmental Sciences

Colorado Mesa University stated that each graduate is allotted two tickets for their ceremony and all guests must have a ticket. They also stated that all graduates and guests will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms and must social distance as well wear a face mask.
