Coloradans who received unemployment benefits between March 15 and October 24 will receive a one-time stimulus payment from the state of Colorado.

Governor Jared Polis just announced today, Wednesday, October 28, that some Coloradans will receive a stimulus payment. Coloradans who received unemployment benefits between March 15 and October 24 will receive $375, according to KRDO.

The one-time stimulus payment should be in Coloradans' bank accounts on December 1, no application necessary. According to The Denver Post, over 430,000 people in Colorado quality to receive a payment.

According to The Denver Post, the only way you'll receive a one-time stimulus payment from the state of Colorado is if:

  • You filed for unemployment benefits between March 15 and October 24
    • Weekly benefit amount between $25 and $500
  • You make less than $52,000

The total cost of sending the one-time stimulus payments to certain Coloradans is $168 million. According to KDVR, the money will come from additional funds the state of Colorado has from:

  • The General Fund from the Medical Services Premium line
  • Disaster Emergency Fund
  • Controlled Maintenance Trust Fund

The state of Colorado will have approximately $150 million in the State Emergency Reserve after issuing the one-time stimulus payments.

According to The Denver Post, Governor Jared Polis stated that this will help people get through the winter and also help our economy recover. He also stated that since Washington D.C. failed to provide additional direct cash support, Colorado is doing our part to help our own, according to KDVR.
