It seems like each day is filled with so much bad news. Here’s a little bit of GOOD news about some young people reaching out to the Grand Junction community.

The Colorado Mesa University Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is making a very special delivery to the Community Hospital Emergency Department today.

As part of their community outreach activities, they have  made 12 hand-tied fleece quilts. These colorful and warm quilts will make a visit to the emergency department a little more pleasant for many of the hospital’s littlest patients.

The SAAC is comprised of representatives from 14 varsity sports, athletic trainers, and cheerleaders and leads CMU’s student athletes in community service projects on campus and in the community.

Today, our hat’s off to Colorado Mesa University’s student athletes for their  involvement in our community.
