When Kid President speaks, people seem to listen and I hope that people hear his message as he tells the story of Martin Luther King, Jr. in his own charming way.

I am grateful for Martin Luther King's dream that he proclaimed more than 50 years ago. I'm grateful that he took a stand for the right, spoke for those who could not speak, and defended those who could not fight.

If Dr. King were alive today, I think he would be pleased with the progress that has been made regarding racial equality.

Things are very different now than they were in 1963 when the original March on Washington was held. In the workplace,  in schools and churches, in sports, and in the entertainment industry, we have seen black and white stand together without regard to the color of one's skin.

Obviously, we still have some work to do, as evidenced by recent police shootings and the ensuing violence and protests. It's an on-going process, but thanks to Dr. Martin Luther King, the gap that once was wide, has narrowed substantially.

In God's eyes there is no color, we too should be as color blind. I would echo the words of Kid President, as he quotes Dr. King, "I have a dream that one day little black girls and little black boys will join hands with white girls and white boys and become sisters and brothers."

I think we are close.
