Carino's in Grand Junction has closed down, leaving Italian food lovers with one less dining option - at least for now.

KKCO 11 News reports the restaurant was trying to  work  out a lease agreement with the landlord unsuccessfully, and was told to vacate the building as of February 24th. The report indicates the restaurant is hoping to find another location.

So, at least for now, we have one less option for Italian dining in Grand Junction. Carino's seemed to be a very popular place, and provides a comparable alternative to the extremely popular Olive Garden as well as the newer Citrola's Italian Grill.

We are hoping that Carino's will be able to work things out in the present location, or  re-locate if necessary. Aside from all the people that eat there, I can't help but think about all the employees who depend on the restaurant for their livelihood.

There are those of us in the valley that hope another Italian option will make it's way to Western Colorado Colorado - the national chain Fazoli's. If you aren't familiar with Fazoli's, which has at least one location in Denver, it is sort of a "fast food" Italian restaurant with good food, and very reasonable prices. Grand Junction seems to be a perfect location for such a place.

But, what about Carino's? Will you miss it if it doesn't re-open?  Take our poll below and tell us what you think.
