It may be Broncos over saturation, but, hey, that's how Broncos' fans are. There is excitement and anticipation as the season gets under way. It's year two of the Peyton Manning experiment, a short term effort to get Denver to the big game. But, what's just as exciting is all of the young players the Broncos are adding that should keep them in the Super Bowl mix, even after #18 is gone. Running back Montee Ball is one of those players, and he may very well turn out to be something special.Ball was taken with the 58th pick overall in the 2013 NFL Draft. The pick might have caused some to scratch their heads. After all, we had Willis McGahee, a big physical back who's NFL career defied all the odds. But, soon after the Broncos selection of Ball, McGahee was given the pink slip and shown the door. Now, the pressure is on Ball to produce, and produce in a big way.

In the pre-season, Ball was not the starting running back, but was listed behind Ronnie Hillman on the depth chart. Hillman is a fast, exciting runner - when he holds on to the football. And that's the key. The Broncos can not afford a bunch of turnovers if they hope to be playing in February. This may be what opens the door for Ball to emerge as the number one back sooner rather than later.

Only time will tell what Montee Ball becomes in the NFL, but we do know what he was as a Wisconsin Badger, something special. Here's some highlights from Ball's collegiate career that should make us very optimistic about his chances to be a Broncos running back for years to come. Could he be the next Floyd Little or Terrell Davis?
