Boz Scaggs has been on the music scene for a long time, and it seems like a  very long time since hits like "Lowdown", "Lido Shuffle", and "Look What You've Done To Me."  Still, he remains active in the studio and on stage, and he still has it. Now with this first studio album in five years, Scaggs brings Memphis to the Hudson Gardens stage in Littleton July 28th.

Memphis takes Scaggs back to his roots. His father, grand parents, and wife are from  Memphis. On his website,  Scaggs says," I had been thinking about a record that involved going back into my past and finding songs that match my style and my voice.” The album is a mix of covers and original tunes.

By his own choosing, Scaggs was out of the music scene in the 80s, but returned in the 90s, teaming up with Steely Dan's Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, and Michael McDonald. Today, in addition to touring with his own band, he continues to work with Fagen and McDonald as 'The Dukes of September.'

Scaggs brings his Memphis tour to the Hudson Gardens Events Center in Littleton on Sunday, July 28th.  KOOL 107.9 is giving away tickets to the show and  you can register for our on-line drawing here.

Here's a couple of my favorite Boz Scaggs tunes - and evidence that this guy can really sing!
