Army Sargent’s SpongeBob Headstone Causes Controversy

While it's not for everyone, this Army Sargent wanted SpongeBob Squarepants to look over her after death.

Army Sargent Kimberly Walker didn't die as a result of her military service, she was murdered by her ex-boyfriend. Since SpongeBob was her favorite cartoon character, her family felt it important to honor her with what they felt was an appropriate memorial. Shortly after being placed at Kimberly's grave, the enormous SpongeBob tombstone was removed because the cemetery felt it didn't fit with the cemetery's guidelines for grave-site memorials.
