Over last 15 years, one athlete more than any other has captured the attention of sports fans and non-sports fans alike, golfers as well as non-golfers. People who don't know anything about golf know about Tiger Woods. They know he's a great golfer, and they know all about the extra-marital fiasco which took destroyed his marriage and took him away from competitive golf for over a  year. Thus, the dichotomy that is Tiger Woods. Love him or hate him.

Tiger Woods has won more than $100 million dollars in price money, according to Forbes. At this point, what TIger wants more than money is wins in major championships. He currently has 14 majors as he chases the Jack Nicklaus record of 18. Early in his career it looked like capturing the record was a sure thing, with 14 major championship wins in 14 years. But, Woods has not won a major since the 2008 U.S. Open.

Woods has won three PGA events this year, but the golf world is waiting to see if the world #1 golfer is back to the dominant force that won three of the four majors in 2000, and then proceeded to capture the Masters three of the next four years, his last Masters win coming in 2005.

There are those who can never forgive Tiger for the admitted despicable acts he committed against his wife. There are others who resent his success, and hope for his failure. Still, there are others who, while denouncing Woods' off the course behavior continue to marvel at Tiger the golfer and believe they may be living in a historic time  featuring the greatest golfer ever to play the game. Only time will tell if this is the case.

If you watch Tiger play this weekend at the Masters in Augusta, you will see him cheered wildly wherever he goes. He remains extremely popular in the golf world. Off the course in the non-golf world is where there seems to be the biggest question of his popularity. And so we ask the question, are you hoping for a Tiger victory this weekend, or are you hoping for a crash and burn?

Regardless of public opinion, he will generate a lot of attention this weekend, because one thing is certain - Tiger Woods is an amazing golfer.
