Grammy Award winning recording artist Alicia Keys will be singing the National Anthem at this weekend's Super Bowl. It will be her first Star-Spangled performance at the big game. The fact is, it is very rare for a recording artist to get more than one opportunity. In 47 years, only two artists have performed the national anthem at two Super Bowls. Billy Joel was the featured artist in 1989 and again in 2007.

Aaron Neville did it in 1990 and again in 2006 when he teamed up with the Queen of Soul,  Aretha Franklin.

Interesting that prior to this year, four of the last 5 Super Bowls have featured American Idol contestants singing the National Anthem.

Beyonce Knowles, who is providing the half time entertainment, is making her second Super Bowl appearance. She  sang the National Anthem  in 2004.
