The Orchard Mesa Veterinary Clinic is hosting a National Pet Week open house this Saturday, May 11, and you should definitely attend. Here are my top five reasons why.

The Jordan family has used the Orchard Mesa Vet Clinic exclusively since the day it opened. As I recall, that was sometime back in the early 1980s. We were clients there back when Dr. Melzer ran the clinic out of the Orchard Mesa Plaza a few blocks east on Highway 50 from its present location.

The clinic is hosting an open house this Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. What's happening during the open house? Tons of exciting and informative things.

  • Food
  • Talks
  • Fun for the kids
  • Bounce Houses
  • A pony and all sorts of "exotic" critters

What will the talks cover? Well, there will be a demo on search and rescue. One talk I plan to attend includes reading body language in dogs.

Here are my top five reasons why you should attend:

  • You can take a tour of the facility and take a look behind the scenes
  • Fun for the kids
  • Support a local business serving the community for decades
  • Free info regarding pet health
  • Did I mention complimentary food?

The Orchard Mesa Veterinary Clinic is located at 2668 Highway 50 in Grand Junction. They can be reached at 241-2866.

A day doesn't go by I don't think about Dr. Tom (Melzer). He was always good to the Jordan family of pets. The present staff at the OMVC has carried on the tradition well. I, for one, am looking forward to this open house. Please make plans to attend.
