You have to wonder what keeps aging musicians like Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Elton John or Paul McCartney on the road touring instead of retiring. Perhaps, they haven't saved enough money for retirement.According to a recent article published in the Sunday Times, money probably isn't the reason these artists haven't retired. The paper's annual rich list shows the amount of wealth of the aforementioned artists and that number is staggering.

Paul McCartney and wife Nancy Shevell top the list at over $1-billion. Elton John is worth $370-million and Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are worth $308-million and $285-million, respectively.

Certainly, the lure of a big paycheck is part of the reason these great artists keep performing well past retirement age. Thankfully, for those of us who like to, or perhaps haven't had the chance to, see them perform they also do it because they really enjoy what they do.
