Do the COVID-19 restrictions have you feeling a little cooped up? Are you missing your Colorado national parks? Here's a chance to view all four of our state's national parks without leaving home.

What's going on right now at Mesa Verde National Park? How about Great Sand Dunes National Park? For that matter, how's the weather at Rocky Mountain National Park or Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park? There's no need to wonder. You can view all four of these awesome locations via a number of webcams.

The next time you're somewhere stuck in line or waiting for your pizza to get ready, take a quick glimpse at these webcams and enjoy a virtual tour. This morning (Tuesday, November 24) I chose to take a peek at Spruce Tree House at Mesa Verde National Park. Mesa Verde was the last national park I visited before the shutdown. It was fun to see it again, all from the convenience of my scuzzy little home office.

A few minutes later I decided to see what was shaking at Dinosaur National Monument. As it turns out, not much was going on. The view of Split Mountain revealed an empty parking lot. In this case, the camera is mounted on the outside wall of the Quarry Exhibit Hall, home of the wall of dinosaur bones.

Okay, so it's not the same as actually being there. Then again, at the very least, I had a chance to enjoy seeing these locations. I don't have the day off, and even if I did, wouldn't have been able to make the trip to either location. That, combined with saving a few bucks and wear and tear on my quaint little car, makes me grateful for the opportunity to at least check in and see these locations.

If a road trip is nowhere in site for the foreseeable future, a virtual visit may be just what the doctor ordered. Maybe you are wanting to visit in person. Before you head out, take a look and check the weather. Most of all, if being stuck at home is giving you the blues, make the most of these awesome cameras and enjoy a virtual visit to these Colorado monuments.
