There were two shootings in Aurora this weekend.

On Friday afternoon, 18-year-old Kamyl Xavier Garrette opened fire at the Aurora Town Center.

A local non-profit leader, 17-year-old Nathan Poindexter, was fatally shot. According to Denver Post, Poindexter was scheduled to be part of a documentary based on a book about the nonprofit, called the “Young Kings of Denver.”

Garrette was arrested on Saturday and charged with first-degree murder.

Denver Post reported on Sunday night that a restaurant goer was shot by an unnamed gunman at Hibachi Grill & Buffet in Aurora. The victim, whose identity hasn't been released, was rushed to the hospital where they later died.

There was also a shooting in Texas over the weekend that occurred during a church service, leaving one dead and another with life-threatening gunshot wounds.
