When the artist known as Belo set out to create an amazing mosaic using rainwater, he wanted it to be more than just a work of art.

Belo's vision was to show, through his art, the levels of impurities found in water all over the earth. Part of his goal was to show how important water is to life, even before birth.

The project took 66,000 compostable and biodegradable cups, almost 4,000 gallons of rainwater and a lot of vegetable dye. When finished, the mosaic covered 3,600 square feet.

When the project was finished, part of the water was used for irrigation and the rest for sanitation ensuring the mosaic was not only beautiful, but eco-friendly.
