We all know how important high school graduation is after working so hard. And the last thing anyone wants to see is the class of 2020 not be able to celebrate their accomplishments. That's why the administration for Mesa County Valley School District 51 is trying to implement some sort of graduation ceremony for all of the high schools.

As you would expect, these dates and times are tentative at this point, and the exact number of guests (if allowed) will be released as we get closer to these dates. If you're looking for more information from the school district click here.

Here is how the schedule looks as of now:

  • July 10th - Central High School at 8:30 a.m.
  • July 10th - Palisade High School at 8:00 p.m.
  • July 11th - Grand Junction High School at 8:30 a.m.
  • July 11th - Fruita Monument High School at 8:00 p.m.
  • July 13th - Grand River Academy at 8:30 a.m.
  • July 13th - R-5 High School at 8:00 p.m.

Remember all dates, times, and protocols are subject to change based on recommendations from Mesa County Public Health.

While not every student is going to be able to make the ceremonies listed above, I think it is tremendous how had the district is trying to put together some sort of a normal commencement ceremony for the class of 2020. They have put in the work it takes and deserves to celebrate their accomplishments.

If any of these dates change we will be sure to pass along the information to you.
