Almost everyone knows you should cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze to prevent germs from spreading. Originally, experts said use your hands. Then they said use your sleeve so you don't contaminate what you touch. Now, it appears neither of these are the best way to prevent the spread of germs.

Besides not covering your mouth properly, here's another reason why so many people get sick. In a survey by Staples published in the Boston Globe, up to 90-percent of people who are sick go to work instead of staying home, potentially making even more people sick. The survey also indicates the best place to pick up germs in the office is the break room.

Many people say, myself included, using a humidifier when you have a cold or the flu helps them feel better. Research also indicates humidity may also help keep viruses from spreading. Researchers found humidity above 43% stopped over 80% of a virus' ability to spread.
