A recent study shows what many of us already know. Colorado drivers are among the worst in the country.

The study, done by Quote Lizard by Lending Tree gives Colorado drivers a C- grade and further states Denver drivers are near the top of the list for bad drivers, ranking eighth overall while Colorado Springs came in at 16th worst overall.

For those of us on the Western Slope, we didn't fare too badly, ranking among the best drivers in the state.

The rankings were based on several criteria, including accidents, DUI's, citations and speeding tickets. Insurance rates in the state increased as well, with a 27% increase between 2012 and 2016.

Road conditions, bridge structure, and estimated road repair costs factored in as well. The study also found the worst drivers seem to be Millenials.

We do complain about the drivers here in Grand Junction and the surrounding areas, but we have to be pretty proud of the fact that our drivers are better than Denver's.
