What a shock collar is to a dog, this bracelet is to humans. This shocking device is designed to zap you into good habits.

The bracelet, called the Pavlok, gives you a 340 volt electric shock -- roughly the same as a good shot of static electricity -- when you fail to get up on time, go to the gym to workout, overeat, or any other bad habit you want eliminate.

The concept is simple. When you do something you shouldn't, the electric shock sends a negative message to your brain, eventually training the brain to avoid the negative stimulus. That's right, it works the same as a shock collar on a dog.

It's probably no coincidence the name of the device is very similar to the Russian physiologist Ivan Pavlov, who is most famous for his research in classical conditioning or as many know it, conditioned reflex. In case you didn't know, much of Pavlov's research used dogs. Shocking, isn't it?
