Over the course of four years, the Robert "Bob" Grant Memorial Scholarship has provided a full-tuition and fees award to music students attending Colorado Mesa University. As the Spring semester ends, applications and auditions are being offered for those wishing to pursue the scholarship for the  2013-14 term.

The scholarship provides $4,400 per semester to a string instrumentalist pursuing a degree in music at Colorado Mesa University. The student must be enrolled full time and study either violin, viola, cello, or bass as their primary instrument.

To date, two students have studied at Colorado Mesa University with their tuition provided by the Robert "Bob" Grant Memorial Scholarship. Both have been seen performing with the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra, as well as a number of other Western Colorado ensembles.

The award was established in memory of Western Colorado photographer Robert Grant, who passed away in November of 2000. Grant was born in what is now known as Clifton, Colorado, and spent his entire life on the Western Slope, minus a three year tour of duty during World War II.

Applications are now being taken for this annual award. In addition to the application, students are also required to perform an audition for CMU Symphony Orchestra director Carlos Elias and one other string faculty members from CMU.

Be a part of the continued artistry and integrity fashioned by Robert Grant, and study under the scholarship established in his memory.
