Marijuana Infused Pizza Sauce Brings Pot to the Dinner Table

It was only a matter of time until the edible marijuana market expanded from dessert to the main course. Thanks to a California company, medical marijuana users in Colorado now have another option for edible cannabis with enough THC to satisfy your munchies and make you feel better.

Podey Pizza Classic Pizza Sauce contains 300 milligrams of THC per 5 ounce jar, which according to the company, is enough infused sauce for one large or two small pizzas.

Podey Pizza says,

This potent recipe was developed using years of expertise from traditional sauce chefs and roasters. Spread evenly across your dough of choice, garnish with cheese and toppings, and prepare to transform your body's personal state of awareness."

Steve Thomas, Podey Pizza's vice president of operations told the Huffington Post, "you can eat three slices (of pizza) and be fully medicated." Thomas also says the pizza sauce is an excellent option for medical marijuana users who don't want to eat sweets to get their cannabis.

The company is currently selling the product to wholesale dispensaries for distribution in California, Colorado and Washington. In Colorado, dispensaries in and around Denver are the first to sell the sauce which retails for around $20 per jar.

I suppose the next logical step would be to find a company to actually make, bake and deliver the pot pizza hot and ready to eat to your door.
