The owners of this popular Grand Junction restaurant will be retiring and the restaurant will soon have a new home.

Lois' Place, a family-owned business in every sense of the word, will be closing their door at 251 Grand Avenue on November 30. Is this goodbye? Yes and no.

Lois and Bob will be retiring. Will the employees, some of which have worked there close to 30 years, be out of a job? No.

Lois and Bob will be setting off to enjoy their retirement. At the same time, though, new owners are coming in and relocating the restaurant. Lois' Place will move to 811 S. 7th Street in Grand Junction. Does that address sound familiar? It should. That was the location occupied be the recently closed Los Reyes restaurant.

There's more good news. The employees at Lois' Place will have jobs at the new location. Talk about a win-win-win. Grand Junction gets to keep an awesome breakfast/lunch restaurant, the employees keep their jobs, and Lois and Bob get to retire after a lifetime of service to Western Colorado.

Will the restaurant retains the name "Lois' Place"? No. The establishment will be called "Sunshine Restaurant."

In addition to the employees, what other Lois' Place fixtures will you find at the new restaurant? It seems the new owners have acquired all of Lois' recipes. Awesome!

Sunshine Restaurant will open for business on January 1, 2019. Be ready for some familiar faces.

Here's to you, Lois'. I've visited your restaurant a thousand times over the years. Thank you for 32 years of hard work and service to the community. I hope you enjoy every second of your retirement. To the owners of Sunshine Restaurant, here's wishing you many years of success in Western Colorado.
