Each year the Grand Junction Police Department steps up to support No-Shave November in partnership with Community Hospital in Grand Junction. If you've heard of No-Shave November but you're not exactly positive on what it is it's a growing campaign embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose. So, it's all about letting your hair grow out. You're asked to donate the money you would be spending on shaving and grooming products to educate and cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle. You can learn more about No-Shave November by clicking here.

In most cases, this event lasts just the month of November but our officers decided with the craziness of this year, why not start the event early. So many (male) officers are now growing facial hair, plus female officers have stepped up too by putting streaks in their hair if they wanted to. But one very cool part of this is that all officers have already made a donation to this very worthy cause.

If you're interested in taking part in No-Shave November you can get started right now just by making a donation here, if you want to go BIG you can create your own donation page and ask friends and family members to donate by clicking here.

I've been thinking about growing out my beard again, mostly because my face gets cold in the winter months, but I think this is a great reason to do so. Starting today I will be putting away my razor and will donate to No-Shave November. I'm just not positive how long I will keep my beard this time around.
