Fireworks bans are all the rage in Colorado this year, but not in the Grand Valley.

The fireworks show in the area for the Fourth of July and other events will go on as scheduled this year, thanks to the wet weather we have had.

The list of places you can't enjoy fireworks is a long one. It's understandable in some areas, choosing to be safe from wildfires. Those communities should be applauded for their safety concerns.

For many of us, the Fourth represents that magical time from years gone by when we could sit and enjoy the oohs and aahs from the crowd as wave after wave of awesome fireworks exploded in the sky, delighting us all.

Recently it's been one disappointment after another in regards to fireworks.

But not this year. Nope, this year we can go up on the monument and see all of them go off, or get our favorite spot in Lincoln Park or Suplizio Field and gather the crew together again to do the two things we all do during fireworks displays.
