"Jurassic World" may not be a four-star movie, but in 3D IMAX it's getting four stars plus from me.

I'm usually skeptical about sequels, so I went into "Jurassic World" with low expectations.

It's been 20 years since "Jurassic Park" hit the big screen and I wondered if the audience would feel any connection to the film that started the iconic series. With no characters, let alone any actors from the original, would it even feel like "Jurassic Park"? or would the special effects completely overtake the film?

Honestly, it was a bit slow to start, but once it got going it did not disappoint.

I don't want to give away any plot points and spoil any surprises, but you have to know and expect that a lot of people are going to get crunched like a hard-shell taco. It's just what dinosaurs do. There were plenty of extremely intense moments throughout the movie.

You can expect the usual cast of bad guys who are out to make an extra buck and there is a small amount of romance, but the main attraction here is the dinosaurs. There is no sex, nudity, or profanity but, I wouldn't recommend this film for children under 10. We are talking about some pretty serious scary stuff here.

If you are interested at all, don't wait for the video. This is definitely a must-see-on-the-big-screen kind of movie. IMAX and 3D make the "Jurassic World" experience absolutely amazing, but if you don't want to travel to Denver for IMAX, or pay extra for 3D, I believe this film will still deliver a real thrill for fans of this series. I'm giving it four stars!

"Jurassic World" is currently playing at the Regal Canyon View Stadium 14 theater in Grand Junction.
