After a wet spring delays opening, mountain biking returns to Powderhorn.

Over the 4th of July weekend, mountain biking returned to Powderhorn. This year's heavy snow on the Grand Mesa made for a record-setting ski season at Grand Junction's closest ski resort. It also delayed the opening of their mountain bike trails. Less than a month ago there was still snow on the ground.

Whether you're an experienced rider, or new to mountain biking, the resort has a trail to fit your skillset. What's fun, too, is the Flat Top Flyer ski lift ride to the top. "We've built mountain bike specific trails, something for all ability levels: a beginner trail, an intermediate trail, and an advanced trail. And we have two new trails coming this summer: a new beginner trail and a new intermediate trail, that are slated for construction beginning next week," so says Powderhorn Marketing and Sales Manager, Ryan Robinson.

Dirt bike motorcycle racing returns to Powderhorn this weekend. WeBe Racing is back for another season. This Saturday, and Sunday, July 13th and 14th it's the Hare Scramble. The race is great family fun for motocross dirt bike fans.

Twilight mountain biking is Friday afternoons 3-7 PM throughout summer. It's just $19 for Friday lift access. Saturdays and Sunday Flay Top Flyer rides are $29 and it's always free to hike. Find out more about the summer fun at Powderhorn by clicking HERE.
