We already knew that Colorado's marijuana industry was booming, but now that has officially been confirmed with the news that the state's monthly marijuana sales have now topped $100 million.

According to the Denver Post, August marked the first time that marijuana sales in the state topped the $100 million mark. More than 59% of that money was from the sale of recreational pot. The state of Colorado collected more than $13 million in taxes for the month.

The sale of marijuana continues to grow from month to month, with each month surpassing the previous month's totals. For the year-to-date, sales of marijuana have topped $600 million, nearly equaling the total sales for all of 2014.

Yes, Colorado's marijuana industry is booming, and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. It is inevitable that more and more communities, Grand Junction included, will strip down the barriers that prevent the sale of recreational pot, and the sale of marijuana will continue to explode - along with all of the problems and issues that are coming with it.
