I'm a huge fan of traveling, we have a big beautiful world and I love exploring it. While I haven't been to many places internationally I have been fortunate to visit the very touristy locations in Mexico such as Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, and Cabo San Lucas. All of those locations are fantastic but they stay alive thanks to tourist dollars. That's why I did find it alarming that some Mexican residents are wanting stronger border restrictions on Americans due to coronavirus numbers on the rise again.

The details were first released by Fox 21 News, that several Mexican governors are asking to make it tougher for Americans to enter Mexico for anything other than non-essential travel. Over the past week, we have seen the number of coronavirus cases increase in America and the Mexican officials don't want American travelers to bring the virus to Mexico and see their numbers rise because of it.

While I understand where the Mexican officials are coming from in their request, it also seems like they could just shut down resorts where the travelers would be staying upon entry into their country. But most Mexican resorts opened back up in late June or early July.

The U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, Christopher Landau, recently reminded people on social media to avoid traveling unless it was necessary.

As of now in Tijuana specifically, only citizens, legal residents and essential workers are allowed to cross the border in either direction. But its common knowledge those rules aren't always enforced by all border control agents.

Only time will tell if new tougher restrictions are going to be implemented for American travels wanting to visit Mexico.
