Mesa County Sheriffs arrested a 27-year-old Clifton man on Thursday for several counts of sex crimes against a child.

Travis Polutnik was arrested on three counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, three counts of sexual assault of a child by a person in a position of trust and pattern of abuse, one count of sexual assault on a child with force, three counts of aggravated incest, three counts of sexual assault on a child in a pattern of abuse and other charges as well as sentence enhancers like Jessica's Law and crimes of violence.

The charges carry a class three felony with them as well.

The charges are the result of abuse against a child by Polutnik that went from January 2014 to May of 2019 and is part of an ongoing investigation into the crimes committed.

Polutnik is being held in the Mesa County Detention Facility on a no-bond hold while the investigation continues.
