For those who were looking forward to sitting in the bleachers this fall and watching a rousing game of high school football, volleyball, field hockey, soccer, and more— you're out of luck.

According to 9News, The Colorado High School Activities Association released its annual athletics calendar on Tuesday, August 4 with some major changes, all thanks to safety concerns due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sports that typically start in the fall, including football, field hockey, gymnastics, boys soccer, and girls volleyball, have been bumped into the spring of 2021. Lower risk sports like cross country, boys golf, boys tennis, and softball are on schedule to begin this fall as they normally would.

The CHSAA's website notes that "the resumption of all activities and athletics are subject to change based upon any changes to national, state or local guidelines."
