Nadia Comaneci made Olympic history at the winter games in 1976 by scoring two perfect tens. Today, the Romanian gold-medal winner turns 52.

The 1976 games in Montreal were the first Olympics I remember watching. Of course, at age 12, I was a sports fanatic. ESPN had not yet been born. We didn't have cable sports channels. Sporting events on network television were always the main attraction, and I watched every sport known to man that was broadcast from college football, to bowling, and of course, the Olympics. I was watching when Nadia made history.

Nadia captured the hearts of the world with her remarkable performance, and at age 14 becoming the  youngest gymnast to ever to be the all-around champion.
