One of Grand Junction's favorite local bands opens this weekend for KC & the Sunshine Band.

Peach Street Revival will take the Amphitheater stage at Las Colonias Park Sunday at 7:30 p.m. just ahead of the iconic KC & the Sunshine Band.

The band features Gonzales on vocals, Cooper Bradley Shull on guitar, Jordan Will on bass, and Sofia Benham on drums. Their music is described as psychedelic blues-rock.

In the early days, Peach Street Revival was primarily a cover band, but their repertoire of original material has steadily grown. Gonzales told me the band always wanted to be an "original' band, but doing covers to start with was the quickest and easiest way to get going. She says in recent months the band has really focused on writing and performing original songs.

The songwriting has been a collaborative effort with the band. Gonzales said  "We've been really lucky.  We meet at our studio up in the Redlands, share ideas, and we've been actually writing songs quickly." Their songs are available on iTunes and Spotify.

You'll hear some of their original songs Sunday night at the amphitheater and the band is extremely excited to be opening for KC & the Sunshine Band. Tickets for the show are available here.
