Another New Date For KC & the Sunshine Band In Grand Junction
Sooner or later KC & the Sunshine Band will perform a concert in Grand Junction. It's gonna be later.
The iconic band is now scheduled to be at Grand Junction's Amphitheater at Las Colonias Park on September 4, 2021. At this point, Grand Junction collectively crosses its fingers and holds its breath. On second thought, maybe we shouldn't hold our breath.
Originally, KC & the Sunshine Band was scheduled to be in Grand Junction in May of 2019. A hurricane in Florida forced the band to cancel several shows, and the Grand Junction event was rescheduled for May of 2020. Unfortunately, in walks Uncle Covid, a.k.a. COVID-19, forcing another postponement. It was hoped the concert could be held in September of this year, but, this date, too, had to be scrapped because of virus concerns.
So, now we have one more thing to look forward to in 2021. Several of this year's Grand Junction concerts have been rescheduled for 2021 including Boz Scaggs and the Beach Boys. Now we can add KC & the Sunshine Band to the growing list.
For those that had tickets for any of the projected Grand Junction concert dates for KC & the Sunshine Band, those tickets will be good at next year's event. For those that were slow in getting tickets for what we expect to be a dynamite show, you'll have plenty of opportunities to buy tickets in the coming months. If you want a refund, those are available at your point of purchase.
In case you don't know, this is the band that delivered iconic hits like That's the Way I Like It, Shake Your Booty, Get Down Tonight, I'm Your Boogie Man, Keep It Comin' Love, Boogie Shoes, Please Don't Go, and Give It Up. From that list of popular songs, you can see why Grand Junction is determined to bring this band to town.
We are certainly hoping that by next September, concert events at the Avalon and The Amp are going to once again be a normal way of life. With fingers crossed and lots of positive thoughts, we set our sights on many great concerts in Grand Junction in 2021.
